April 2013. Serial delivery of new slide gates to one of Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company plants started
VT-60/80R slide gate is SME Vulkan-TM’s recent development designed for ladles with up to 200 tons capacity. A unique mechanism for gate plate locking is the main feature of this gate that allows it to operate with plates by various manufacturers and of different nominal sizes. This feature is a distinctive advantage that makes it possible to use new plates with other operational properties as they appear in the course of time. This eliminates the necessity of gate stock re-equipment or any modification of their designs. Modular folding layout ensures convenient maintenance.
Since 2012 the gate has been successfully used at Nizhneserginsk Metalware Metallurgical Works.
The enterprise won an international tender and currently makes batch deliveries of VT-60/80R slide gates for steel-pouring ladles to UGMK-Stal LLC’s new electrometallurgical plant in Tyumen.
Specific technical and economic parameters for the new gate with a set of refractories provide significant advantages as compared to its competitors.
