LLC NPP VULKAN-TM has developed a technology and a set of equipment for refining cast iron melt using a bottom ceramic tuyere. A recent customer of this technology was one of the plants for the production of thin-walled cast iron in the Siberian region.
In mid-August 2021, Siberian foundry workers together with specialists of NPP VULKAN-TM LLC conducted experimental work on purging the molten cast iron with nitrogen in a drum bucket. The study of the microstructure of castings showed the efficiency of refining. It was decided to conduct commercial operation of the bottom purge technology during October 2021
