February 2013. Participation in the 22nd International Conference “Refractories for Industry 2013”

The company joined the participants of the 22nd International Conference “Refractories for Industry 2013” which was held in Moscow on February 5-6. The conference was attended by top managers and experts from ministries, federal authorities, leading Russian and foreign engineering companies, design companies, institutes, refractory making and metallurgical companies.

SME Vulkan-TM specialists delivered a report on “Next Generation Steel Casting Gating and Refractories” which covered the company’s recent developments – VT slide gates. They have the advantage of modular design, i.e. the entire gate is made up of standard modules which can be replaced directly on the ladle, and their upgrade or modification require no modification of the entire gate. Convenient maintenance and the gate opening procedure also play a significant role: nearly every type of gate has several modifications. It was stressed that SME Vulkan-TM maintained large-scale production of refractory products with different operating properties, both for factories with a low use factor, and for high-tech enterprises where highly resistant refractory products are required.

Developing and manufacturing competitive, import-substituting products is the company’s main line of business.
