Scope of Application
The filter box is designed for fine filtration of all brands of aluminium and alloys containing it (wrought and cast alloys based on aluminium – silicon (silumins), aluminium – copper (duraluminium), aluminium – magnesium (magnalium) systems, special silumins, zinc, magnesium, and other non-ferrous metals and alloys.
SME Vulkan-TM Filter Boxes
Advantages of SME Vulkan-TM filter boxes:
- Sharp decrease in the number of casting defects due to presence of non-metallic inclusions, oxide spots, slag, and gases;
- Design simplification and considerable reduction in the specific quantity of metal for gating systems, as the gating system does not require any components impeding the flow of metal or slag catchers;
- Casting speed optimization, mould erosion prevention, improvement of the casting surface and quality;
- Improvement of the cast structure mechanical properties and achieving better casting impermeability.
